The zig-zag pattern on the shoulders apparently represent "worms," which also represent lightning and are therefore connected to rain and agricultural fertility, which sustain life. The tiny figures along the bottom edge of the blouse may be dogs. Dogs and worms are documented motifs on another textile example from Carranza, as shown explained by Walter F. Morris in The Living Maya (New York, 1987).
