National Palace Murals

Scene showing a colonial codex painted and displayed by Nahuas of central Mexico. The artist of this mural, Diego Rivera, wanted to emphasize the clothing, horses, and weapons of the invaders, all items that did indeed find their way into colonial pictorial manuscripts.
