Scene showing a colonial codex painted and displayed by Nahuas of central Mexico. The artist of this mural, Diego Rivera, drew upon actual pictorial manuscripts in the native tradition to illuminate their ways of portraying the Europeans' arrival by ship, the battles for conquest, and the presence and participation of priests in the colonial enterprise.
