Wonders of Nature"
The desire to assemble the wonders of Chinese culture in the capital not only recreates Han Chinese imperialist fantasies of political sovereignty, it continues the historical tendency to fantasize and exoticize non-Han "others." Fanciful reproductions of anomalies of nature fit in with the theme of park. Given this logic of the anomalous being a traditional component of imperial tribute, it is not out of place that a small dinosaur park is placed in the N.W. corner of the park.
