We seek funding for the expansion of all of our dictionary projects. The more robust they are, the more utility they will have, and the greater role they will play in the preservation of these endangered languages and in facilitating the translation and analysis of historical manuscripts. For centuries, such manuscripts have been left rotting on earthen floors, subject to many forms of deterioration. We wish to capture the spectacular indigenous voices and perspectives that such manuscripts contain.
We also seek to diversify the sources of information and forms of expression that these dictionaries utilize, incorporating increasing amounts of multimedia, such as audio and video clips with authentic, unprompted speech by native speakers.
We welcome volunteers and interns, and we welcome your donations to make this valuable work possible. For further information, please contact Stephanie Wood, 541-346-5771, or write: swood (AT) uoregon.edu.
Thank you so much!
