Air:
Currently there are a few direct flights to Oaxaca from Houston and, possibly, L.A., but most require a connection in Mexico City or elsewhere. Your travel agent is going to be the best person for you to talk to. The direct to/from Oaxaca flights are not every day of the week. Whether or not you plan on flying directly to Oaxaca or to go through Mexico City, please plan on arrival in Oaxaca on Saturday, July 10. You will need at least that much time to get settled before the opening reception on July 11.
Bus:
You can travel to Oaxaca by bus from Mexico City. The trip lasts about 7 hours (?) and there are several private bus lines that offer service. Believe us when we say that it is worth it to secure the more expensive 1st class like buses and seats. . The distance from the airport into town and the schedule of bus departures may require that you spend the night in Mexico City. We will provide websites that tell you more about bus service and recommended hotels.
